The Commercial Attorney-Contracts will provide transactional support, including reviewing, redlining, drafting, formatting and managing obligations for a wide variety of commercial agreement types. You will work with other teams in different geographies supporting this client and you will interact with Elevate Management.

Specifically, You Will...

  • Draft contracts for specific transactions for which no client templates exist; involves working closely with business to understand the transaction
  • Review and redline contracts in accordance with playbook and legal guidelines
  • Draft amendments, SOWs, notices
  • Compare contracts and highlight differences and similarities in memorandum format
  • Create and update playbooks and process training documents as per regular discussions with client
  • Review agreements against established standards, create deviation reports, and propose alternative positions working from a negotiation playbook or checklist
  • Upload agreements into contract management system and prepare summary reports; facilitate creation and management of content databases
  • Use summary data and other information from signed agreements to improve playbooks, tools, and templates
  • Provide high level legal research and memorandum drafting support
  • Provide attorney guidance to local team
  • Deliver services efficiently by following and improving processes around the work being provided to the client
  • Capture work in progress and data in a workflow management tool, and use this tool to prepare reports and presentations

Essential experience and skills:

  • 4+ years of commercial legal experience in an in-house legal department or with a law firm.
  • Legal practice focused on commercial transaction support.  
  • Experience working with multinational companies and supporting business clients and legal teams in all geographic regions.
  • Experience with contracting process tools and infrastructure, workflow management, and metrics.
  • Excellent track record in previous client support/customer service engagements

Technical skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote.
  • Some experience with contract management software or workflow tools is a plus.
  • Facility capturing, organizing, and working with data.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from accredited or internationally recognized law school with license to practice in at least one U.S. state.
